General Guidelines
General Guidelines:
You must use the computers for establishing 1 or a combination of these 3 models:
- CTC (Community Technology Centers) – We provide computers for non-profits and schools to establish or upgrade computer labs within their facilities.
- Staff Support – We provide computers for the administrative technical needs of non-profits and schools.
- Learn & Earn – We provide computers for non-profits and schools to establish programs where their students or clients earn a computer after completing some training. The purpose of the training is to insure that anyone receiving a computer should be able to do basic things on it like start it up and shut it down, save documents and retrieve documents, use email and Internet, and do basic word processing.
- You may apply and receive computers only one time per calendar year.
- For non-profit organizations, you must mail in a current 501©(3) public charity determination letter from the Us Department of Treasury (example). DO NOT mail in your state sales tax certificate. For schools, you must mail in a current state or national accreditation certificate.
- The CEO, President, Executive Director, Principal, or Superintendent must sign and mail in our donation agreement before we can approve your application.
- Only authorized people on the donation agreement may sign for receipt of the equipment when they pick it up.
Eligibility Guidelines:
Only Colorado-based entities that hold Colorado recognized charitable status and IRS recognized 501© (3) code, and Qualifying Schools that are a public or private nonprofit K-12 school or community college that is either institutionally accredited by an accrediting agency nationally recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or approved by the Colorado Department of Education may apply.
The following are NOT considered Qualifying Charities:
- private foundations (as defined in Section 509 of the Code)
- political, labor and fraternal organizations
- hospitals and health care organizations such as healthcare networks and insurers (however, the following health care organizations shall be deemed to be Qualifying Charities: (x) ambulatory healthcare services organizations that are qualified under Section 501©(3) of the Code and that are also Federally Qualified Health Centers or FQHC Look-Alikes, and (y) blood banks)
- home healthcare organizations
- religious organizations without a current 501©(3) exempt status and secular community mission.
